About WPS

Water Prevention Solutions was founded by Jim Reese in Logan, Utah, after seeing his neighbors constantly battling flooded basements. Luckily, Jim had Ron White, a life-long plumber and fellow old-timer, by his side. Ron, who knows more about pipes than most people know about anything, helped Jim until his body finally told him, "No more!" Together, these two seasoned pros created a solution for all those who'd rather avoid the swimming pool in their basement—because nobody has time for that kind of surprise flood.

Specifications

Designed for use with 3" and 4" cleanout pipes, this device is intended for installation before an emergency. Proper preparation includes:

  1. Locating your sewer cleanout pipe in advance.
  2. Knowing how to remove the top cap.
  3. Practicing the installation process.

The device includes a 12’6” air hose for inflation and requires a bicycle tire pump for installation. Do not use an air compressor, as it may overinflate and damage the bladder or piping.

Removal

Removal

After local authorities confirm that the sewer system is safe to use:

  1. Release the air pressure from the bladder.
  2. Remove the device and reinstall the sewer cap.

Ensure the device is removed before using any plumbing fixtures, such as toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, washing machines, or other appliances draining into the sewer line.

We recommend replacing the Backflow Prevention Device after a single use, as exposure to sewer chemicals may compromise its integrity. However, at your discretion, the device can be thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damage before storing it for future use.
